Pounds Lost Since Surgery: 195 Pounds
Overall Weight Loss: 147 Pounds
Pounds to go until GOAL: 48 Pounds
So, no loss, but no gain. Well, I do whole numbers. Technically, I lost 1/2 a pound. And you know what? I'm okay with that. I had a great weekend. I made some good choices. I made some bad choices, but overall I'm still proud of myself. I've worked hard to get where I am now and while there may be bumps in my path, I'm still in a good place.
Last week was pretty good. It was the same ol' same ol': Work, school, gym repeat. I really do love my life and the simplicity of it. While we have spontenaity, there is also comfort is the peace in our home.
This weekend was awesome! So, we took a half day from work to have an impromtu get-a-way. And when I say impromptu, we just decided this on Tuesday and bought the tickets and booked the hotel room. Anyways, we left and headed for the Big D and I DO mean Dallas. Let me just say, I LOVE Dallas. There is so much to do and look at. I couldn't live there but it is nice to visit from time to time. First stop was Grapevine Mills Mall. I LOVE this mall. There are six sections of outlet goodness and we spent like 4 hours there.
First stop in the mall was Victoria Secret. I'll be honest, I've always wanted a Victoria Secret bra. And honestly, after losing 147 pounds, I needed to get a new bra. So, I went in for my first ever bra fitting. It was interesting to say the least. The first lady that I worked with kinda hurt my feelings. She said there was no way that I was the size that I was wearing and was probably letting my boobs sag. It really did hurt my feelings because I know how to take care of the girls and I don't let them wander around. The second person was awesome. She totally gave me some confidence and helped me find the perfect bra. And I finally got a bra that was not only comfortable but it fit me perfectly. Sooooooooo, I'm telling everyone....for Christmas I want Victoria Secret gift cards!
So, shopping is TONS more fun now. I can shop at almost every store. It's pretty amazing so be able to walk into a store with confidence. Well, almost every store. I did walk into the Buckle. They had Miss Me jeans. I want a pair of Miss Me jeans. However, I didn't know my size. The man that helped me asked us if we needed anything right out of the gate. I was honest and told him I don't know what size my waist would be. He looked right at me and said "Are you sure you're a normal size?" It did kind of crush me. What exactly is a normal size anyway? And who decides what sizes are normal and what sizes are not?! Even if I was a size 28 again, why would you say that to someone? So, I get three different sizes and a pair of the jeans fit. I was super pumped and even walked out in the jeans and said "I guess I am a normal size." He immediatley went into sales pitch mode. It kinda upset me a little. Don't be a jerk and size predujice and then try to gain a sale from me. It doesn't work like that. So, needless to say, I did not buy the jeans. The main reason was that I just couldn't justify spending $100 on a pair of jeans that I may or may not be able to wear next month. The second reason was that I wasn not getting that guy any commission off of me after his normal size comment.
I did do some fun shopping. I tried on lots of dresses for a work event. I like tryinng on clothes now. I even tried on a size 10 dress and it fit. It was SUPER tight, but it fit and looked quite nicely. Below are some pictures of just a few that I tried on. You'll see which one I picked next month when I go to this event. I also got a new purse while shopping at Coach and Michael Kors. I LOVE it. I also got some shirts and really did have a great time with Johnathan walking around the mall.
One of the best parts was the build up for the OU/Texas game. Any OU fan we saw would immediately say "Boomer" or "Hello" or give me a nod and every Longhorn fan would razz us (just a little nothing inappropriate) or smile at us. It was like rivalry and comradarie molded into one and I quite enjoyed it.
We also went on a date night that night. I chose the Cheesecake Factory. I'm sure many of you think I'm a glutton for punishment for choosing that place to eat. But, I did my homework first and checked the menu. I knew that I would want the lemon herb chicken. It's amazing! I also knew I'd really be tempted by the cheesecake; but alas, they have low carb cheesecake!! And it tasted really really good! It was a great evening.
Saturday was the big day. The OU/Texas game at the Cotton Bowl. I've always wanted to go to this game and had a BLAST! We got up and headed straight to Texas State Fair. So, we walked around that morning until time for the game. There was sooooooo much to look at and do. We went around some of the booths and ended up at the Matress Firm booth and tried out a few of the beds. The temperpedic bed was awesome. We spent some time at that booth. Then, we went and saw some hot tubs with hard tops until it was finally time for kick off.
Let me just start this by saying, I do not do crowds well. They make me nervous and a little angry because a mass of people are not the smartest. I was physically pushed. It was ridiculou the way grown men and women were acting. We finally got in and got our seats and had a ball at the game. I made some friends. The guy that was next to me talked my ear off because his girlfriend so totally told him that football wasn't her thing. I love college football. While I'm still learning some of the rules, I love the game. And I love my Sooners. Did they play their best? No. There were so many mistakes but all in all, we won! We beat Texas! BOOOOOOMMMMMEEEERRRRRRRR!!! I had a blast! This is someething I want to again and again. It was totally worth it!!!
So after the game the plan was to spend some time at the fair and maybe ride the rides, but after fighting that crowd, I was out. I could not get out of there fast enough. And of course the razzing got a little bit worse. I was loving it because we won; however, some of those Longhorn fans couldn't take it. On the tram back, one even threatened to jump of and get violent with a few fans. I'm all about fun and games but some people take it a little too far.
Sunday, we spent the day with Miss Ry. We took her out to eat and carved pumpkins. I've always loved to carve pumpkins. I can remember carving pumpkins at Nanas with Michael Andrew, Seth and Maryah. These are memories and traditions that I want to pass on. It was a great day. And then I introduced Rylee to Harry Potter and guess what, she loved it! Of course she did, she's my niece! We also roasted some pumpkin seeds. Yummy! Recipe included!!
However, the last couple of days have been rough. I've had a hard time bouncing back from all the running around. I'm exhausted and feel a little weak. I've even skipped the gym the last two days because I just don't have it in me. So, prayers requests are that I bounce back quickly and get back on track so I can lose some pounds this week!
